Pre-K Pre-Registration for the 2026–27 School Year

Pre-registration for Alabama’s First Class Pre-K Program opens January 15, 2026, on the state website.

Eligibility

Students must turn 4 years old on or before September 1, 2026, to be eligible.

How to Pre-Register

Be sure to select Leeds Primary School as one of your preferred sites.

Lottery Information

• Lottery Date: Tuesday, March 10, 2026

• Location: Leeds Primary School Library

• Application Deadline: Monday, March 9, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.

Once you have completed the state pre-registration, no further action is required until the lottery.

Documents to Have Available

While waiting for the lottery, you may want to gather the following documents for future use:

• Child’s birth certificate

• Social Security card

• Immunization records

• Relevant medical records or diagnoses (if applicable)

• Parent/guardian photo ID

• Custody paperwork (if applicable)

• Proof of residency (rental agreement, mortgage statement, or deed and a current utility bill)

After the Lottery

Families of selected students will be notified via email.
To secure your child’s spot at Leeds Primary School, all required paperwork must be completed by March 22, 2026.

Program Information

• Tuition: No cost

• Attendance: Regular attendance is required to maintain enrollment

• Potty Training: Students must be potty-trained

• Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack are provided at no cost through the Community Eligibility Provision

Program Hours

• School Day: 7:45 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

• Early Care: 6:30 a.m. – 7:15 a.m. (additional fee)

• After Care: 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (additional fee)
